Athletics Win Squeaker, 2-1, Over Thunderbirds
|
The Phoenix Thunderbirds wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter Arturo Noboa, falling, 2-1, to the Kansas City Athletics at Legednary Park. Angel Flores picked up the save for Kansas City, his 1st of the year. The Thunderbirds, 6-9, continue their poor start to the 2078 campaign.
Kansas City needed the clutch hitting of Duviel Zaldivar to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Athletics on top, 2-1. For the game, Zaldivar had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Exciting game to play in," said Zaldivar. "Getting the win makes it even better."
