Bruce Lays Hammer Down in 6-2 Win
|
The 2078 season did not get off to quite the start the Philadelphia Spectres had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Havana Metropolitanos at Sony Field at Philadelphia. The final score was 6-2. Starting Pitcher Huggy Bruce was the top performer for Havana. Pat Fox earned the save for Havana, his 1st of the year.
Bruce, the winner, is now 1-0, after putting the clamps on the Philadelphia offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up no runs on 4 hits, while collecting 10 Ks.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Bruce.
