Gaedels Improve to 9-5 with 4-0 Win
|
St. Louis starter Travis Morris kept the Washington offense from doing much damage. The left-hander leaned on his forkball in leading the Gaedels to a 4-0 win. In 7.1 innings, Morris surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The setback makes the Senators 5-9.
Alexander Linares, who finished 4th in the EC in doubles with 45 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Linares contributed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put St. Louis up, 2-0.
"Travis kept his poise and got the job done," said St. Louis manager Mak Dolnick. "He was outstanding."
