Senators Top Gaedels, 4-2
|
Washington starter Alberto Zamora pitched well against the St. Louis Gaedels at Veeck Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2, in 13 innings. The Gaedels fall to 5-9 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2079 season.
Washington needed the clutch hitting of Matthew Bankson to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Senators on top, 4-2. For the game, Bankson had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Senators manager Josh Cooan.
