San Francisco had no answer for Las Vegas Aces hurler Arturo Covarrubias, who overwhelmed Friars hitters as the Aces coasted to victory, 6-1. The winning pitcher was Covarrubias, now 1-2. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. The loss makes San Francisco 8-6.

Las Vegas second baseman Walter Straws contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 2nd hit of the season and put the Aces ahead, 2-0.

"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said San Francisco manager Jeremy Cooan.
