Minneapolis wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Slider Brooks, falling to the Los Angeles Stars, 3-2. Brooks threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The winner was Los Angeles reliever Miguel Torrez, now 2-0. The loser was Abel Downey. The Vikings drop to 5-9.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 2-2, center fielder Orandy Noda won it for Los Angeles. With the bases loaded, Noda hit a 1-0 fastball from Marcos Jurado for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 3-2 win.

"Put a star next to this win," Noda said.
