Titans Send Buffalo Home with 4-1 Loss
The New York Titans topped the Buffalo Rangers, 4-1, in Eastern Conference action at Polo Grounds II. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York pitcher Matt Pontius. Picking up his 1st save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Keiyo Nagao. New York is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 5th win in 14 games.

The Titans got a big at-bat from right fielder Mario Rodriguez. For the game, Rodriguez was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave New York a 2-0 lead.

Rodriguez called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
