Twins Score Late, Stun Juggernauts, 4-3
|
Josh Bystrom had a good game, but he could not keep the Toronto Juggernauts from falling, 4-3, to the Cincinnati Twins at Cincinnati Grounds. The Toronto left fielder was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times in the loss. The Twins have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 3rd win in 13 games.
In the bottom of the eighth, Cristovão Alvelo put Cincinnati in front with a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, he rapped a run-scoring single, making the score 4-3, Twins.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Alvelo told the Cincinnati Times. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
