Houston starter Yadisniel Saez put the Vancouver offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his curveball in leading the Aquas to a 5-1 win. Saez picked up the win for Houston, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Picking up his 1st save was 24-year old left-handed pitcher Yasuhiro Katayama.

Houston catcher Shane Ausmus contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 11th hit of the season and put the Aquas ahead, 5-0.

Ausmus told a Houston Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The Wolves fall to 5-8 and continue their lackluster start in 2083.
