Jody Stewart put on a hitting clinic as the Hicksville Sumos dumped the Joliet Blues, 17-5, at Blues Stadium.

The Hicksville left fielder made Joliet defenders earn their pay, lashing Joliet pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Stewart said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Jody Stewart walked in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Andres Cortez in the 9th.
