The home crowd had a good time watching the Portland Dragons and Alaska Kodiaks get after it.

The Alaska Kodiaks picked up a win at Tundradome, taking down the Portland Dragons, 6-3. Starting pitcher Alex Mayorga was a big reason why. Andy Miao earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.

Brian Lynch had a big 2-run home run for the Kodiaks in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Alaska leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he got a forkball from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Bertrand Ivory and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kodiaks ahead, 5-2.

Said Alaska manager Alex King: "We squared some balls up."

Alaska, now 3-10, is off to a slow start.
