Portland Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Portland Dragons and Las Vegas Aces.
Portland pitcher Yuuya Usui had a large part in his team beating the Las Vegas Aces, 3-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Portland is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 4th win in 12 games.
The Dragons got a big at-bat from designated hitter Shigenobu Shimamoto. For the game, Shimamoto went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Portland a 2-0 lead.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Usui after the game.
