Metropolitanos Eke Out 6-5 Win Versus Philadelphia
|
No one was more impactful than Phil Wilde in the 6-5 Havana win over Philadelphia. Wilde, who is tied for 6th in the EC in stolen bases with 3, was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The save went to Pat Fox, number 4 for him. The loss drops the Philadelphia record to a disappointing 4-7.
Wilde had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-1 curveball from Santos Lalin, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Metropolitanos a 6-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Wilde.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Metropolitanos manager Mark Sands. "This one was nice to get."
