The Santiago Avispas beat the Portland Dragons, 5-2, at Estadio Guillermón Moncada. Dave Yerges went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The 2074 Hitter of the Year Award winner was a menace to Portland all day. Teh-huai Yap, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save. Santiago is now 58-51.

Yerges came through with some timely hitting for Santiago. With Portland trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Yerges hit a 0-1 fastball for a grand slam home run. His 44th home run of the season made it 5-2, Santiago.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Yerges told the Santiago Gazette.
