Aces Win, 4-3, Extend Streak to 4 Games
|
The Las Vegas Aces had to overcome a fine effort from Kansas City pitcher Arturo Covarrubias to win, 4-3, at Ballpark of Missouri. Covarrubias went 6.1 innings and allowed 4 runs. J.P. McNealy, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save. Las Vegas bumps their record to 51-58 with the win.
The Aces got a big at-bat from second baseman Alonzo Alfonso. For the game, Alfonso was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Las Vegas a 4-2 lead.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Alfonso told the Las Vegas Gazette.
