The timely hitting of Reinier Martinez helped the Vancouver Wolves down the Los Angeles Stars, 8-3. Martinez was 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Wolves. Matt Steffes picked up the win in relief for Vancouver, while Billy Paul took the loss. At 47-62, the Wolves are currently 4th in the Western Conference Rafael Mena Division.

Martinez had a timely hit for Vancouver in the top of the eighth. With Los Angeles trailing 3-2, he turned a 0-1 cutter into a 2-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Vancouver.
