Spectres Beat Arrows, 10-7
|
The Spectres grabbed a win, 10-7, at Power Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Seattle pitcher Ricky Zika. Zika went 0 innings and allowed no runs. Reliever Franklin Lastre picked up the win. His record improves to 6-6. Victor Roman took the loss. Fidel Flores earned the save for Philadelphia, his 25th.
Sal Mendoza came through with a big-time hit for Philadelphia. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 10-7. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Mendoza told the Philadelphia Daily News.
The second-place Spectres have won 4 consecutive games.
