Brooklyn 3-2 Win Hard-Earned
|
Brooklyn Browns starter Wade Belk pitched his team past the Baltimore Kings in 11 innings, 3-2. Kevin Bozek notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 6-5. Greg Byrne picked up the save for Brooklyn, his 1st of the year.
Brooklyn won the game in part because of Jose Buezo. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Browns ahead, 3-2. For the game, Buezo had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
In postgame comments, Buezo said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
At 64-42, Brooklyn is in first place in the Eastern Conference Max Badaloni Division.
