Both teams had their chances, but the Denver Glaciers eventually prevailed.

Denver beat San Diego at Seaward Stadium, eking out a 4-3 win in 11 innings. The win was due in large part to right fielder Gerald Gaghiardi. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs. Denver is off to a hot start at 2-0.

Denver used a timely hit from Larry Perfect to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Glaciers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Perfect.
