Athletics Jolt Destroyers, 4-2, with Late Rally

Behind an impressive start by Alex Laso, Kansas City beat San Diego, 4-2. The second-place Athletics are now 61-46, the Destroyers 51-57.
Kansas City took a 4-2 lead on Jerry Gomez's 26th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Gomez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left San Diego pitcher Abelard Herr visibly frustrated.
Gomez told a Kansas City Citizen reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
