Avispas Beat Senators, 2-0
|
The Santiago Avispas claimed a close win over the Washington Senators, due in large part to Masaru Uno. The Santiago right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. The winner was Uno. He threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Les Ralph. Teh-huai Yap sewed up the save, his 12th.
Valerius Lowe, who is on pace for 110 RBI this season, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lowe contributed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put Santiago up, 1-0.
"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Lowe.
Santiago is now 53-52.
