Friars Win, Aparicio slugs 2 home runs
|
Oscar Aparicio knocked in 3 runs to help San Francisco beat Portland, 6-4. Aparicio produced 1 single and 2 home runs. Shaun Chugh, the winner, goes to 8-4. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts over 5.1 innings. The save went to Manny Arango, number 13 for him.
With San Francisco leading 4-3 in the top of the fourth, Aparicio hit a run-scoring single off Portland hurler Stuart Stephenson. It was the 58th hit of the season for Aparicio and put his team ahead, 5-3.
"We've got a great group of guys," Aparicio said, "and we're having fun right now."
The Friars own a robust 69-37 mark.
