Buffalo Bats Cold in 4-0 Loss
|
The Vancouver Wolves picked up a win at Fox-Chong Park, dropping the Buffalo Rangers, 4-0. Andretti Lipka was the difference-maker. The Wolves are now 51-56, while the Rangers fall to 54-52.
Ken Draves had a big solo home run for the Wolves in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Vancouver leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a curveball from Santiago Ontiveros, who finished 5th in the EC in wins with 16 in 2068, and punished it. The result was his 21st home run of the season, which put the Wolves on top, 2-0.
In postgame remarks, Lipka hailed his team's "single-minded determination."
