Metropolitanos Fall Short, 2-1, at Las Vegas
|
Starting pitcher Gary Banks gave the Las Vegas Aces a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Havana Metropolitanos, 2-1, at Western Coliseum. Banks picked up the win for Las Vegas, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. The loss makes Havana 62-43.
Las Vegas took a 2-1 lead on Jimmy Arman's 13th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Arman hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Havana pitcher Luis Casillas visibly frustrated.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian said.
