Minneapolis had no answer for Seattle Arrows starter Arturo Covarrubias, who flummoxed Vikings hitters as the Arrows cruised to victory, 7-0. The winning pitcher was Covarrubias, now 1-1. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Seattle raised its record to 53-53 with the win.

Seattle used a well-timed hit by Ray Farr to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Arrows ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Covarrubias.
