Aces Handle Athletics, Grab 6-4 Win
|
The Kansas City Athletics got a sterling performance from pitcher Alex Aguilar, but the Las Vegas Aces still prevailed, 6-4. Aguilar threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner in relief was Jake Latimer. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-2. Freddie Fel earned the save for Las Vegas, his 6th of the year.
Roger Rexwinkel drew 2 walks in 4 trips to the plate for Las Vegas. The 31-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Andres Berrones. It was his 30th RBI of the season.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Kansas City manager Joe Monagle.
The Aces improved their record to 57-48 with the win over Kansas City.
