Trigg scores 4 runs, Friars Move to 66-38
|
Behind the hitting of D.J. Trigg, the San Francisco Friars stopped the Kansas City Athletics, 9-2. Trigg went 2 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2 for the Friars. At 66-38, San Francisco is in first place in the Western Conference Nala Forcelledo Division.
Chris Neri had a big 2-run double for the Friars in the bottom of the fourth inning. With San Francisco leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from Yobal Ulacia, who finished 2nd in the EC in strikeouts with 227 in 2068, and swatted a double to left. It was his 21st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Friars ahead, 4-0.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Kansas City manager Joe Monagle.
