Metropolitanos Get Clutch Win, 6-5
|
San Francisco got a decent performance from pitcher Salvatore Pino, but it wasn't enough to beat the Havana Metropolitanos. Havana won the Staples Field contest, 6-5. Pino threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Josh Trejo, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 30th save. Havana is now 62-42.
Hyuk Park came through with a big-time hit for Havana. The right fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said San Francisco manager Erich Weatherholt. "The effort was great."
