Athletics Topple Dragons, 12-3, as Otomo Shines
The Kansas City Athletics cruised to a win over the Portland Dragons, 12-3, at Ballpark of Missouri. Riichi Otomo led the way, going 3-for-4 for Kansas City. The winning pitcher was Jose Caro. He tossed 81 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The win puts the Athletics at 43-61, while the Dragons drop to 50-54.

The Athletics got a big hit from left fielder Ricky Morales. Facing Portland pitcher Eric Scherer in the bottom of the sixth, Morales pounded a bases-clearing double to right-center. His 6th double of the season put the Athletics ahead, 12-3.

Portland manager Greg Carpenter said: "We'll rinse this one off and get ready for the next game."
