Kings Beat Cyclones, 3-1
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Baltimore Kings and the Miami Cyclones. Baltimore won it, 3-1. Baltimore starter Jelle Jamin was in command. Jamin went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 9. His record improves to 7-9. Barnes Boerma earned the save for Baltimore, his 6th of the year.
With runs few and far between, the Kings had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Baltimore came in the bottom of the third inning, when first baseman Jorge Ojeda delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Danny Chagolla and made the score 2-0, Kings. Ojeda was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"Every loss stings," said Miami manager Chris Stephan. "This one is no exception."
Baltimore, at 48-56, holds down 4th place in the Eastern Conference Jose Santovenia Division.
