The Denver Glaciers defeated the Philadelphia Spectres, 5-0, in Western Conference action at Mountain Dew Park. Denver pitcher Ringo Pineiro had a standout performance. The first-place Glaciers are 65-39.
Larry Perfect, who is a two-time All-Star, contributed to the Denver win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"Ringo has got a slow heartbeat," said Denver manager Todd Bleess. "He doesn't panic or anything."
