Wolves Dismiss Lobster, 4-3
|
The Vancouver Wolves and Maine Lobster played an entertaining game for Fox-Chong Park patrons.
The Vancouver Wolves picked up a win at Fox-Chong Park, taking down the Maine Lobster, 4-3. Starting pitcher Victor Franco was a big reason why. Franco picked up the win for Vancouver, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. John Gulley earned the save, his 1st, for the Wolves.
Manny Roman had a big solo home run for the Wolves in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Vancouver leading 3-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from 34-year old right-handed pitcher Bertrand Ivory and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Wolves on top, 4-1.
"It was a good effort all around," said Franco.
The Wolves saw their record improve to 43-61.
