Browns Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
The Brooklyn Browns had to overcome a fine effort from New York pitcher Nick Tamulevich to win, 4-3, in 11 innings at Polo Grounds II. Tamulevich went 6 innings and allowed no runs. The win belonged to Victor Balaguer in relief. His record improves to 9-5. Derek Bath took the loss for New York. The first-place Browns go to 61-41.

Brooklyn needed the clutch hitting of Jose Buezo to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Browns on top, 4-3. For the game, Buezo had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We ground out the win," said Buezo. "That's all that matters."
