Ponce goes 4-for-5 to Power Thunderbirds Offense

At Western Coliseum, the Las Vegas Aces and Phoenix Thunderbirds were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Phoenix Thunderbirds stopped the Las Vegas Aces, 11-6, behind an impressive performance from Alex Ponce. The 27-year old left fielder made life miserable for Las Vegas pitching. He was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. Phoenix's record now stands at 50-52, placing them second in the Western Conference Manny Muro Division.
With Phoenix leading 6-4 in the top of the sixth, Ponce hit a cutter from Jake Latimer for a bases-clearing double. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Thunderbirds ahead, 9-4.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Ponce.
