Los Angeles and Havana duked it out and the Stars came out victorious.

The Los Angeles Stars overcame a fine performance by Havana second baseman Phil Wilde to defeat the Metropolitanos, 9-6, at Estadio Latinoamericano. Wilde was 4-4 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. Picking up the save was Miguel Torrez. He's now 24 for 26 in save chances.

Los Angeles used the clutch hitting of Brian Boots to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Stars the lead, 5-4. For the game, Boots had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"We got the victory," said Boots. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
