Dragons Slap 5-3 Loss on Spectres
|
Sony Field at Philadelphia was the site of a competitive game between the Philadelphia Spectres and Portland Dragons.
The Portland Dragons picked up a win at Sony Field at Philadelphia, knocking off the Philadelphia Spectres, 5-3. On the mound for Portland was right-hander Aaron Hendsbee. He played a key role in the triumph. Hendsbee, now 8-7, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs.
Joel Poll dealt the Spectres a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Portland leading 3-2, Poll hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run single.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Portland manager Greg Carpenter. "It's usually not just one thing."
The Dragons raised their record to 50-51.
