Kansas City Grabs 3-2 Road Win
|
The Seattle Arrows were defeated, 3-2, by the Kansas City Athletics at Power Ballpark, even though B.J. Terriquez pitched well for Seattle. Keaton Bozek got the win, improving to 8-3. He held the Arrows to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Earning the save was Roberto Patino. He's now cashed in 4 of 9 save opportunities.
Kansas City used a well-timed hit by Chris Horn to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Athletics ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
After the game, Kansas City manager Joe Monagle applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The Athletics, at 57-43, sit in second place in the Western Conference Mike Stump Division.
