Wolves Post 6-1 Win Over Havana
|
The Vancouver Wolves went home winners at Estadio Latinoamericano, thanks in large part to starter Jose Madrid. Madrid stifled the Havana Metropolitanos, enabling Vancouver to grab the 6-1 win. Madrid, now 5-4, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The Wolves go to 41-60 with the win.
Vancouver used a well-timed hit by Cedric Leal to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Wolves ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
When asked about his performance after the game, Leal said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
