Friars Win, 9-2, at Philadelphia
|
The San Francisco Friars pinned a convincing loss on the Philadelphia Spectres, 9-2, at Sony Field at Philadelphia. Bobby Rojas was a main factor in the win. He went 2-5 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for San Francisco. Sherman Lara snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 1.2 innings. He's now 4-1 on the season. San Francisco, at 52-48, sits in third place in the Western Conference Felipe Solorzo Division.
With San Francisco leading 3-2 in the top of the sixth, Rojas hit a fastball from Steve Jennifer for a 3-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Friars ahead, 6-2.
"They just got us," said Philadelphia manager Ryan Huff, "and that's all I can say."
