Cyclones Trip Twins, 4-2
|
The Miami Cyclones racked up a win at Kroger Stadium, bumping off the Cincinnati Twins, 4-2. Roberto Davila, who started for Miami, pitched effectively for his team. Davila yielded 2 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 8-3. The first-place Cyclones have won 5 straight games.
Paul Zimmers had a big solo home run for the Cyclones in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Miami leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from 28-year old left-handed pitcher Abdi Bitok and swatted a home run to right. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cyclones ahead, 2-0.
"I thought Roberto threw the ball well across the board," said Miami manager Chris Stephan.
