Spectres Fall Short at Toronto, 4-3
|
The Toronto Juggernauts defeated the Philadelphia Spectres, 4-3, in 11 innings in Eastern Conference action at Molson Park. Toronto pitcher Santiago Ontiveros had a standout performance. The win belonged to Ignacio Noriega in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Miguel Romero took the loss for Philadelphia. So far, the 2083 season has been disappointing for Philadelphia, now 4-7.
The Juggernauts got a clutch hit from right fielder Chad Schoepp. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Juggernauts.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Ontiveros told reporters after the game.
