The Las Vegas Aces earned a close win over the Minneapolis Vikings, thanks in part to Arturo Covarrubias. The Las Vegas right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the WC in innings pitched with 123.2, played a key role in the 10-inning, 3-2 victory. Jason Mouland earned the save, his 22nd. The third-place Aces now have a record of 52-47.

Eddie Buitrago, who finished 5th in the WC in on-base percentage with .381 in 2073, had a direct impact on the outcome. Buitrago contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the tenth inning to put Las Vegas up, 3-2.

"We were in it," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan. "We just didn't score enough runs."
