Miami Ruins Terrific Game by Monge
Despite a fine performance by second baseman Omar Monge, the Miami Cyclones lost to the Cincinnati Twins, 4-3. Monge slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Jose Uresti got the win, improving to 7-5. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Avery Slade locked down his 9th save.

Cincinnati won the game in part because of Nick Phipps. The second baseman ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Twins ahead, 4-1. For the game, Phipps had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Phipps said.

Cincinnati now owns a record of 49-50.
