Senators Dumped, 7-0, by Miami
|
Elza Ficquelmont, who is tied for 4th in the EC in wins with 10, had a strong outing for the Miami Cyclones against the Washington Senators at Kroger Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-0 win. Ficquelmont, now 10-6, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Miami's record now stands at 62-35, placing them first in the Eastern Conference Antonio Detorres Division.
Anaximander McKay hit a 2-run home run off Alberto Zamora in the bottom of the third, which put the Cyclones ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, McKay had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"Elza was pounding the zone," said Miami manager Chris Stephan.
