The Minneapolis Vikings scored a convincing win at Minneapolis Grounds, defeating the San Francisco Friars, 12-1. One of the hitting stars was 26-year old catcher Morimasa Kawamoto who went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Devon Jenkins earned the win. Cruz Ponce, who is tied for 2nd in the WC in wins with 10, took the loss for San Francisco. The third-place Vikings are 41-56.

With Minneapolis leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Kawamoto hit a changeup from Cruz Ponce for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Vikings ahead, 4-0.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan.
