Dragons Rally For Late Win Over Thunderbirds
The Portland Dragons knocked off the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 6-3, in Western Conference action at Legednary Park. Portland pitcher and Carolina, Puerto Rico, native Jonas Juarbe had an outstanding performance. Justin Kurth earned his 11th save in 12 chances. The loss makes Phoenix 56-37.

Portland needed the clutch hitting of Hideji Yamanaka to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dragons on top, 4-2. For the game, Yamanaka had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Juarbe.
