The 11-9 Buffalo win over Maine was due largely to Matty Hrinko. The Rangers left fielder was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Buffalo reliever Dan Shelton picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mike Pechtel was saddled with the loss. Buffalo, now 7-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.

Merlin Garbie came through for Buffalo with a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth. The catcher went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 runs batted in.

"That's a solid team effort right there," said Garbie. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
