The Boston Greens put the giddy home crowd in an even more jubilant mood after beating the Santiago Avispas in the season opener at Arrington Park. Second Baseman Flynn Hinxman won plaudits for Boston. He went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Dryden Ice picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Teh-huai Yap, who is a two-time All-Star, was tagged with the loss.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Hinxman hit a fastball from Teh-huai Yap for a 3-run home run. The Greens, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Hinxman.
