Arrows Come Back Late to Top Athletics, 7-6
The Seattle Arrows withstood an impressive performance by Kansas City right fielder Hisatoshi Morita to defeat the Athletics, 7-6, at Ballpark of Missouri. Morita went 3-5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Garrett Gutierrez, now 7-4, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Felipe Diaz, credited with the save, is now 2 for 4 in save opportunities.

Saint Petersburg, Florida-born Ryan Jarnagin came through in the clutch. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded and the Arrows trailing 6-5, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Seattle on top.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Arrows manager Dr. Jay Siber. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

The victory gives the Arrows a record of 47-47.
