With 7-6 Win, Glaciers Go to 58-35
|
The Denver Glaciers withstood an impressive performance by Buffalo shortstop Josh Beauchesne to defeat the Rangers, 7-6, at Mountain Dew Park. Beauchesne was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The win belonged to Victor Garza in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Pablo Mejia took the loss for Buffalo. The first-place Glaciers now have a record of 58-35.
Had Kamaluhaiakapu Kahakuokahale not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Kahakuokahale hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Glaciers.
Kahakuokahale said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
