Ed Rice, who finished 5th in the EC in saves with 19 last year, had a strong outing for the Miami Cyclones against the Cincinnati Twins at Cincinnati Grounds. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 8-3 win. The win makes Miami 38-54.

With Miami leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Rice hit a 2-run single off Cincinnati hurler Bokkai Nikaido. It was the 28th hit of the season for Rice and put his team ahead, 3-0.

"Ed had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Miami manager Chris Stephan.
