The San Antonio Angels wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter Arthur Gordon, falling 2-1 to the San Diego Destroyers at Seaward Stadium. The winner was San Diego reliever Harold Ruspoli, now 3-0. The loser was Arthur Gordon. Justin Wicker earned his 12th save in 14 tries.

The Destroyers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jose Pedroza. For the game, Pedroza went 2-4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 22nd double of the season gave San Diego a 2-1 lead.

"We put together a nice win," Pedroza said.

With the win, the Destroyers sit at 47-45.
