Portland Dragons pitcher Aaron Hendsbee whisked his team past the Portland (E) Lobster, 5-1. The 4th-place Dragons improved to 44-47.

The Dragons got a gift in the bottom of the fifth inning, when they were leading 2-1. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Ray Garcia reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-1, Portland.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Hendsbee. "Successful pitchers do it."
