Cincinnati Downed, 3-1, by Avispas
|
The Santiago Avispas banked on Masaru Uno and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Cincinnati hitters in check. The final score was 3-1, Avispas. Santiago reliever Teh-huai Yap, who is tied for 9th in the EC in saves with 10, was credited with the win. His record goes to 4-3. Antonio Ramires took the loss for Cincinnati. Santiago's record now stands at 46-44, placing them 4th in the Eastern Conference Max Badaloni Division.
Santiago used a timely hit from Cheuk-yan Zha to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Avispas ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Masaru's as tough as he is talented," said Santiago manager Jacob Pauly.
