Twins Clonk Greens, 4-2
|
The Cincinnati Twins defeated the Boston Greens, 4-2, in Eastern Conference action at Cincinnati Grounds. Cincinnati pitcher Craig Kruppenbacher had a standout performance. Kristian Kupkat earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 2-1. Cortez Ortega earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Macho Guillen was at the plate when Cincinnati scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Twins to go in front, 3-2.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops.
The Twins' win now puts them at 38-52.
